Coming soon: Landmark report on tackling health inequalities 5 June 2009

The exciting new report, ‘The Intelligent Board 2009: Commissioning to reduce inequalities’, produced by an independent reference group of experts and supported by Dr Foster, is set to be launched on Wednesday 10 June at the NHS Confederation conference in Liverpool.

The report will be available from this website as of the 11th June.

The Independent reference group who put the report together are all leading figures within the NHS and associated organisations, they are:

  • Alan Stephenson, Chair, NHS Ashton, Leigh and Wigan, and Trustee, NHS Confederation;
  • Nicholas Campbell-Watts, Non-Executive Director, NHS Lambeth;
  • David Cox, Chair, NHS South Birmingham;
  • Andrew Donald, Chief Operating Officer, NHS Birmingham East and North;
  • Brian Fisher, GP, NHS Lewisham;
  • Chris Heffer, Head of Customer Insight, Department of Health;
  • Maggie Rae, Joint Director of Public Health, NHS Wiltshire and Wiltshire Council;
  • Michael Scott, Chief Executive, NHS Westminster;
  • Jo Webber, Deputy Policy Director, NHS Confederation
  • Sir William Wells, Chair of the original Intelligent Board series

An associated website will also be available from www.drfosterhealth.co.uk/inequalities from the 11th June. The new website reveals, for the first time, the levels of unexpected hospital admissions across five key indicators, heart disease, stroke, alcohol related disease, diabetes and ambulatory care sensitive conditions.
