Barnsley PCT’s Healthy Breathing Campaign short-listed 8 May 2008

The IDM Business Performance Awards chose the campaign as a finalist in the Data Targeting category. Dr Foster Intelligence worked with Barnsley to design and implement an innovative telemarketing campaign that greatly raised awareness of COPD. The usual response rate for telemarketing campaigns is 5.78 per cent (DMA 2006), whereas the Barnsley campaign achieved a response rate of 88.1 per cent.

A hard hitting campaign to encourage smokers across Greater Manchester to kick the habit has today been hailed a "resounding success." One in six people interviewed admitted the Quit-It Campaign had an impact on their lives and made them think about the dangers of smoking and why it was important to quit. One in 10 people interviewed said they had been encouraged to quit after hearing the Quit-It campaign messages.
