"MHAT has the potential to provide us with early feedback on our performance in line with CQC assessments. This could enable timely identification of problems, maximise our responsiveness and ultimately improve our performance."

Mental Health Activity Tracker (MHAT) is a web-based benchmarking tool that enables both local and national comparative investigation and trend analysis to inform effective strategic decision making.
Pre-loaded with the Mental Health Minimum Dataset (MHMDS), MHAT helps mental health providers and commissioners measure and identify areas for improvement in service organisation, patient access and clinical quality.
MHAT was designed to support the fast-changing mental health policy environment, in line with the New Horizons programme and Informatics Planning 2010/11. With increasing focus on quality, efficiency and patient experience and greater accountability through Payment by Results (PbR), MHAT will help mental health service providers deliver services more efficiently.
