Research Director
Job summary
- To lead the research function in Dr Foster Services
- Provide Business Development support to the Business Development Team
- To take a lead in developing the DFI research proposition
- To take a lead in developing business performance of the research function in Dr Foster Services
- To oversee and manage (support managers) of all primary research projects delivering Social marketing insight and patient and public engagement
Key Duties and Main Responsibilities
Project Management/Lead
- To efficiently manage and take an overall project lead of all quantitative and qualitative projects within proposed budget and schedule – taking a lead in sample and material development for quantitative and qualitative research aspects of projects – and to act as a mentor for other team members on delivering primary research
- To manage the financial performance, quality and efficiency of primary research projects
- To work closely with clients on the delivery of all aspects of projects
- Research presentation/report drafting and presentation to clients
Business Development
- Support the sales process by acting as a subject matter expert (but not chasing leads), including writing competitive and profitable costed proposals to tenders, with support from the Business Development Team
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
Essential
- Substantial experience of quantitative and qualitative research design management and delivery
- Experience of managing and developing a research team
- Experience in dealing with clients on all aspects of a primary research project
- A demonstrable interest in Healthcare research
Desired
- Healthcare research; specifically re: policy development at PCT, DH or local government level
- Line management experience
