Tim co-founded Dr Foster in 2000 to provide authoritative, independent information about local health services. A well-respected journalist and broadcaster, Tim graduated in history from Cambridge University and has worked as news editor at the Sunday Times, as foreign correspondent for the Independent and has presented award-winning documentaries for both Channel 4, and the BBC.
Tom recently joined Dr Foster Intelligence from Emap where he was chief executive for four years. He worked across Emap for 25 years and oversaw a period of substantial growth as the company operated across consumer magazines, radio and B2B.
Geoff joined the company in January 2007 after two years with the Department of Health as head of their Independent Sector Treatment Centres (ISTC) procurement programme. Geoff graduated in Business Studies from Massey University in New Zealand and is a Chartered Accountant.
Alwena joined Dr Foster Intelligence in 2007 as Head of Marketing and was appointed as Director of Marketing Services in December 2007. Before joining Dr Foster Intelligence, Alwena spent over 20 years as a marketing consultant and Director of two marketing communication consultancies. During this period she developed brand, marketing and communication strategies and campaigns for a wide range of clients. Alwena also has experience across many sectors including business to consumer, business to business and the public and voluntary sectors.
David joined Dr Foster in October 2007 after two years at the Department for Health, where he led the team responsible for performance managing large private sector health contracts. Previously David has worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers as a management consultant in their Government and Public Sector practice and held a variety of senior IT and operational positions with organizations in the Education Service sector.
Julia joined Dr Foster in 2002 to develop relationships and business opportunities within the NHS for the North of England. After two years as Head of Customer Support, Julia moved to a six month secondment at NHS East Midlands as Head of Performance Intelligence. Julia is now our Chief Knowledge Officer looking at new ideas and initiatives for management information and is our internal advisor for bespoke data projects.
Mark has been in healthcare sales and marketing for more than 20 years. He started within the pharmaceutical industry and has since worked with a variety of markets. Before joining Dr Foster Intelligence, Mark was the European Sales Director for an aesthetic medical company.
Ajay is a graduate accountant with over 15 years post qualification experience. He began his career with Ernst & Young and has since held a number of senior finance roles, including CFO W H Smith USA Retail; Director of Financial Control (Mainstream)–First Choice plc and Group Audit Director-Emap plc.
